We don't know this girl or Faye yet either too much. It was massive cringe and poorly written in. Just leave Faye alone for now or wait until next season to do it. Look, Spikes already got a love story, and it's evolving, Jet has an ex so we have that dynamic. Faye is closed off so she doesn't get hurt from other people, but bangs a random girl?! Then she jokes about having the sex, orgasming, and is obsessed with it. Did these people not watch the anime at all!?! Here, he's just a clingy boyfriend who couldn't get over a break-up. He was at least cool about it in the anime.
Moreover, Spike just came across as desperate and pathetic. The virtual time-loop was near unbearable not just because they basically fucked up the entire Brain Scratch episode, but also because this adaptation of Julia is HORRENDOUS!!! Seeing her over and over and over again was a literal brain scratch. The "VHS Tape" episode in the original anime was far more intriguing and really left you wanting more with regard to Faye's history. Is this an homage to the meme of Shepard (Mass Effect) fixing people by fucking them? Was this even necessary? It feels like Netflix just wanted LGBTQ representation for no reason. They insisted on "desexualizing" her as a character, but then what ultimately gives her catharsis and opens her up emotionally was sex. 'Cowboy Bebop' Netflix Live Action Soundtrackįaye's "emotional" monologue post-"first orgasm" felt unearned, bordering on forced.
